Cartonara is broadening its position in sales and logistics to support the further growth trajectory of the company. With Zufall logistics group as its new logistics partner, the start-up is paving the way for its planned further development into a full-range supplier, as Managing Director Michael Weber reports: “We want to significantly expand our product range and offer our customers comprehensive packaging solutions. To achieve this, we need a strong logistics network and more flexible warehouse capacities. Zufall group, which like Thimm is a family-business based in southern Lower Saxony, can offer us both.”

Since March 2018, Cartonara, a business division of the Thimm Group, has been expanding the wide product range of the Northeim-based packaging specialists with an e-commerce platform. Over the past few years the corporate start-up has delivered a positive performance. Cartonara’s specialised e-commerce solutions have already enabled it to develop its own product innovations and the product range is to be significantly expanded in the future. According to Michael Weber the objective is to service the entire demand for e-commerce packaging solutions: “This not only includes folding boxes and shipping boxes, we also want to offer our customers a comprehensive package of solutions for all their online shipping needs. In our future product range, in addition to classic packaging, we also want to include cushioning foam materials and products for equipping warehouse and office premises.”

Commercial customers will also benefit from additional services such as the fast delivery of very small quantities to city centres. This is especially interesting for retailers who want to Ship from Store directly. The start-up is also planning to expand into other European markets, especially in the D-A-CH region. From the first half of 2022, customers in Austria will also be able to purchase the diverse packaging solutions from the Cartonara online shop.

Early this year Cartonara started the process to select an external logistics partner and ultimately decided upon the logistics company from Göttingen. Michael Weber is positive about the further development of the start-up and the collaboration with the new partner: “Working alongside Zufall group we have created the ideal conditions for the further growth of Cartonara as a comprehensive partner for e-commerce packaging solutions.”
