While the folding carton divisions recorded a solid performance, the MM Board & Paper division in particular was burdened by lower sales prices and cost increases despite significant volume increases, explains MM.

Starting from a low level in the previous year, demand at MM Board & Paper developed below expectations. Due to existing overcapacities and weak consumption, competitive and price pressure continued in 2024. Nevertheless, MM was able to increase capacity utilization and record a significant increase in volume compared to 2023.

Sales increased to € 1.954 (1.919) billion. Adjusted EBITDA decreased by 2.5 % to € 90.3 (92.7) million. However, the operating result was again in the red at € -19.2 (-19.8) million. The volume produced rose to 3.145 (2.694) million tons. The average order backlog amounted to 172,000 (156,000) tonnes.
