Valmet to deliver a winder rebuild to VPK Paper Normandie in France

Valmet is to deliver a winder rebuild to VPK Paper Normandie in Alizay, France. The rebuild will increase the operational reliability and capacity and improve the safety of the winder.
The order was included in Valmet's orders received of the second quarter 2024. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter 2024.
“The rebuild will increase the automation level of our winder, hence providing an opportunity to further optimize our winding process and increase the capacity of our production line. We are looking forward to cooperating with Valmet and the delivery later this year, as the winder rebuild is an important step towards reaching our production and safety targets,” says Jamila Derraz, Mill Manager at VPK Paper Normandie.
“The paper machine in Alizay was restarted in 2023 after a grade conversion delivered by Valmet. We are happy to continue the cooperation with VPK by delivering a winder rebuild that will make the winder easier and safer to operate,” says Kevin Liegeois, Mill Sales Manager, EMEA Area at Valmet.
Delivery’s technical information
The winder rebuild will include a mother reel and empty spool handling solution, a new slitting section with automatic trim positioning, edge trim cutting, and installation services.
