UPM prepares for possible temporary layoffs in Finland

UPM Pulp, UPM Timber and UPM Communication Papers will start change negotiations on possible temporary layoffs (zero short-time work). The negotiations will be conducted to prepare for a possible temporary adjustment of production in the Finnish units if the uncertainty in the operating environment persists. This is reported by the company.
The negotiations will cover all pulp mills, sawmills and paper mills in UPM's business areas in Finland.
The potential temporary layoffs could take place between 1 July and 31 December 2024 at UPM Pulp and UPM Timber and between 1 September 2024 and 28 February 2025 at UPM Communication Papers.
Decisions would be made after the conclusion of negotiations. Possible temporary layoffs could be implemented gradually and last a maximum of 90 days in total.
