Turkey is about to impose safeguard measures on imports of corrugated base paper from Europe.
The Import Safeguard Assessment Committee "has unanimously decided to apply a provisional measure of US$200 per tonne for 200 days on all products under investigation based on the findings and investigations during the investigation process".
The measures will come into force after approval by President Erdoğan and will then be published in the Official Gazette, Bernard Lombard, director of trade and industrial policy at CEPI, told EUWID, adding: "We expect the presidential decree to be published within a few days, and the provisional duty should come into force one week after the publication date of the presidential decree."
The provisional measure would expire after 200 days if no definitive measure is introduced, he added.
