Corrugated board: Stora Enso considers closing the Vikingstad plant

On 10 January 2024, Stora Enso initiated consultations on the possible closure of the Vikingstad plant in Linköping/Sweden.

The plant employs 56 people and mainly supplies customers in Sweden with corrugated packaging for retail, transport, e-commerce, consumer goods and industrial applications. As demand for corrugated board packaging is low, Stora Enso plans to consolidate operations at its two other Swedish corrugated board plants in Jönköping and Skene, a company spokesperson explained.
