The Spanish corrugated board industry grew again last year compared to the previous year.

However, it was not able to reach the 6 billion square meter mark achieved in 2021. According to the industry association AFCO (Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Envases y Embalajes de Cartón Ondulado), Madrid, Spain produced a total of 5.836 billion square meters of corrugated board in 2024 compared to 5.629 billion square meters in the previous year. In 2024, 3.266 million tons (2023: 3.123 million tons) of corrugated base paper were used to produce corrugated board in Spain.
However, at €6.967 billion in total, the industry's turnover last year was roughly on a par with the previous year, according to the report.
