Expands capacity and enables entry into new markets
Group Joos, the Belgian specialist in security printing, highly personalised direct-marketing campaigns, and print-on-demand applications, has enhanced its capabilities with the installation of SCREEN’s commercial black-and-white printer, the Truepress Jet 520HD mono.
Group Joos CEO Alex Joos says: “This investment is a major boost, enabling us to handle print jobs more efficiently, quickly, and sustainably. The black-and-white output can be optimally combined with our classic offset-printing presses. The combination of these technologies gives Group Joos the opportunity to enter new markets quickly and flexibly.”
Joos adds: “This high-speed inkjet press offers a wide range of possibilities, ranging from data printing, including personalised pre-printed direct mail, to on-demand printing such as books, patient information inserts for packaged medication, manuals, and catalogues.”
The SCREEN Truepress Jet 520HD mono high-speed inkjet press – with its water-based SC inks – prints directly on coated offset paper, without the need for a primer. Its energy-efficient drying takes place 100% with near infrared, which preserves the paper’s natural moisture balance, and, in finishing, ensures a high-quality end product.
“The advantage of inkjet technology is that it shortens time-to-market for our customers, by eliminating several process steps, and enables printing variable content,” says Joos. “In addition, the technology fits with our zero-waste approach, as it helps us reduce our own carbon footprint and that of our customers. Paper waste, storage capacity, and the use of chemicals are minimised, making it a more environmentally friendly, sustainable option.”
