These include two corrugated board plants in Bydgoszcz and Wrocław, two paper mills in Grudziądz and Myszków, one of which was completely modernized in 2023, as well as three service centers, explains the paper and packaging manufacturer. The entire management and all employees will also be taken over.

Schumacher Packaging employs 1,540 people in Poland and generated sales of €327 million in 2023. The completion of the transaction is still subject to approval by the Polish antitrust authorities and the fulfillment of certain preconditions.

For the remainder of the Group, Björn Schumacher explained: "Out of responsibility for the sustainable competitiveness of our family business, we are therefore in advanced talks with potential strong partners. With companies that share the same entrepreneurial vision for our industry and have the size and strength to actively shape the future of packaging together with us in the long term." EUWID is currently unable to provide any further information, even when asked.

Even after the sale of its Polish activities to Saica, the Group considers itself to be well positioned and will then have 2,400 employees and 17 locations in 5 European countries.
