Schaur leaves UPM

UPM has made a change in management for the new year 2025. Winfried Schaur has left the company after 32 years to start a new chapter.
He had held various management positions in the paper division since 2001. “It has been an incredible journey at UPM, full of opportunities, new experiences and challenges that have shaped and molded me,” Schaur explains on a social media platform.
Most recently, he was Executive Vice President, Technology and UPM Biorefining and previously Executive Vice President, UPM Communication Papers.
Winfried Schaur was also President of DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE, formerly the Association of German Paper Mills (VDP), for many years.
He will be succeeded in the position of Executive Vice President, Technology and UPM Biorefining by Harald Dialer. He was most recently Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer at the HCS Group and previously held positions of responsibility at BASF, Süd-Chemie, Scientific Design Co. and Clariant.
