The Dutch industrial developer UTB Waalwijk will acquire all shares in Sappi Lanaken N.V., including all tangible and intangible assets, for €50 million, of which €40 million is in cash.

The sale is not subject to any conditions and is expected to take effect next October, Sappi explained. In the meantime, the possibilities for future industrial use of the complex in Lanaken are being examined.

According to UTB, this includes a 300,000 square meter mill site, including the two paper machines with a production capacity of 530,000 tons per year, stock preparation, supercalenders, winders and the pulp mill for the production of 165,000 tons per year of BCTMP and the mill's internal logistics center.
