Russia to support domestic paper industry in the context of the crisis
News General news
Russian pulp and paper mills are currently facing a number of constraints: severely weighed down by the collapse of supply chains and the lack of Western imports of chemicals, auxiliaries and machine parts needed in the production process, market insiders explain.
As a first reaction to the shortage of bleaching chemicals, Russian mills have increasingly switched production to unbleached grades. At Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill, these include both pulp and liner grades. The Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill, Sylvamo, Leningrad Region, is launching a new line of semi-bleached pulp products, including a new office paper. The company is working under high pressure to reorganize supply chains and stabilize production, according to Russian sources.
