In future, the paper mill will cover its own thermal energy requirements with the waste-fuelled power plant. Surplus heat will then go to the local Frastanz brewery and up to 500 additional households. The power plant will mainly be operated with residual materials from paper production and Vorarlberg industry (34,000 tonnes per year).

Commissioning is planned for 2026. However, EUWID was told that the authorisation procedures must first be completed. Rondo Ganahl estimates the investment volume at €95 million.

Rondo Ganahl AG, headquartered in Frastanz, Vorarlberg/Austria, specialises in the production of corrugated base paper, paper recycling and the production of individual outer packaging made from corrugated board and customised inner packaging made from cast fibre.
