Releaf Paper: Innovative paper made from fall leaves
News News blog
Leaf blowers are a common sight in many residential areas, especially in the fall when the leaves are falling. However, despite their efficiency in quickly clearing leaves, many people are not very enthusiastic about them. The main reason for the dislike of leaf blowers is the extreme noise they make. The background noise can not only considerably disturb the peace and quiet in residential areas, but can also be harmful to health. Studies show that constant noise can cause stress and sleep disorders.
But foliage also offers completely different possibilities...
The Ukrainian startup Releaf Paper produces paper from autumn leaves in a unique and sustainable way. The company was founded in 2021 and has set itself the task of extracting valuable raw materials for the paper and packaging industry from plant waste.
Wide range of leaf paper
Releaf Paper offers a wide range of innovative products made from leaf fibers:
- Releaf Natural Kraft Liner: kraft paper for corrugated packaging and mailing bags. Available in grammages from 80 to 170 g/m2.
- Releaf packaging: Carrier bags, wrapping paper, shipping boxes and mailing bags. With up to 40% leaf fibers and fully recyclable and biodegradable.
- Releaf Fiber: Pure hardwood fiber pulp and fillers for blending in other paper products. As a sustainable alternative to wood fibers.
- Souvenir products such as notebooks and greeting cards made from Releaf Paper.
Releaf Paper's offer is aimed at brands and packaging manufacturers
Releaf Paper enables brand owners, packaging manufacturers, paper mills and wholesalers to make their packaging and products more sustainable. Over 80% of consumers today are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly packaging. With Releaf Paper, companies can meet the growing demand for green products and gain a competitive advantage.
Sustainability thanks to regional foliage
Releaf Paper mainly uses foliage from cities and communities around the production site in Ukraine. Various local tree species such as oak, maple and lime are used. Thanks to short transportation routes and the use of a plant waste product, Releaf Paper significantly reduces the CO2 footprint of paper production.
The innovative start-up shows how valuable and sustainable raw materials can be created from autumn leaves - for a greener range of paper and packaging.
