Upcycling: From Paper Plate to Creative Gift Bag

A beautiful and inexpensive idea for small presents - the gift bag is suitable for small gifts, e.g. for Mother's Day and is very easy to make.

With a little creativity, you can quickly craft a practical bag for all kinds of utensils from one whole and one half paper plate. Whether for pens, cards, or small gifts - this homemade decorative bag is a real eye-catcher.

Here's how easy it is: First, both paper plates are painted and designed according to your mood and imagination. Then, place the half plate on top of the whole one (the back side of the half plate must be on top) so that they fit perfectly together at the bottom edge. Use a stapler to fix the two plates together along the edge. Now is the perfect time to further decorate the resulting bag, for example, with glitter, rhinestones, or cut-out shapes like hearts or flowers.

If you want to give the bag as a gift, e.g., for Mother's Day, you can now put small presents inside - tea bags, a small fabric heart, a small hand cream, a chocolate bar, candies, etc. It's even possible to include a small bouquet of hand-picked flowers placed in a tiny yogurt cup filled with water. However, in this case, you should no longer lay the bag down but only keep it upright.

If you want to keep the bag for yourself - for example, as a storage bag for pens or cards - you can poke two small holes through the plate at the upper edge, some distance apart, thread a ribbon through, and tie it. Your self-crafted storage bag is ready and can be easily hung on a nail or hook.

I have already crafted and gifted such a bag twice, and the recipients were always delighted. Little effort - but lots of joy.
