Panther invests sustainably in logistics
News General news
The Panther Group continues to invest in internal and external logistics in order to increase services for its customers and, above all, to further reduce CO2 emissions.
After a neighboring property of approximately 25,000 m2 was acquired at the location and headquarters in Tornesch (near Hamburg) in 2022, new production and storage buildings have since been built there. Existing properties were demolished and new, modern logistics facilities were built. Further planning is currently underway and should be completed in the first quarter of 2024. The aim remains to achieve the highest possible level of automation in the storage and loading processes and to save unnecessary truck trips to external warehouses.
At the Panther Group's eastern location, in Wustermark (Brandenburg) the finished goods warehouse is also to be equipped with the latest high-bay storage technology and the storage capacity is to be expanded to around 24,000 pallet spaces in order to use the savings potential to reduce CO2 emissions and to continuously act sustainably - entirely in line with the sustainability strategy Panther for Planet.
New open space of 23,000 m2 was also purchased at the location in Coswig (Anhalt). The production and storage space in this company is also to be doubled in 2024/25.
Furthermore, the internal logistics at these locations are brought up to the highest level of technology and are fully automated and digitalized.
Panther is investing around 70 million euros in these mentioned projects. As a result, customers benefit from an even better just-in-time delivery service and the environment from demonstrably less impact.
