Norske Skog on the status quo at Saugbrugs paper mill

The Norske Skog Saugbrugs paper mill was damaged in a rockfall in April this year. The PM 6 paper machine has been at a standstill since the incident and will remain out of operation for some time.

The production shutdown at PM 6 at Norske Skog Saugbrugs paper mill is expected to last until the end of the second quarter of 2024. The main work so far has been "securing the site [and] removing rocks and debris to gain access to the paper machine", Norske Skog explained. The extent of the damage and the necessary repair work to the paper machine has yet to be determined.
According to Norske Skog, the Saugbrugs paper mill is insured against property damage and business interruption for a period of up to 18 months.
