News General news
The WEPA Group has invested in a new converting line at its Leuna location. The highly efficient line was recently put into operation and enables the production of very soft and absorbent paper while using little raw material thanks to innovative technology. With this investment the WEPA Group underlines its objective of offering customers innovative products of the highest quality and to simultaneously act sustainably.
The new converting line from manufacturer Gambini is capable of producing high quality hygiene paper at production speeds of 700 metres per minute and is geared towards kitchen towels. With its innovative AirMill technology, an automatic-change embosser and new rewinder technology, the line is technologically state of the art.
Harm Bergmann-Kramer, member of the WEPA Group Management Board: "The new converting line is a further investment in the WEPA Group's technology leadership and an important component in achieving our sustainability goals with regard to sustainable production. The plant is unique in Germany and sets new standards for the quality of kitchen towels, while at the same time using low quantities of raw material. It makes us proud that our customers can now benefit from this."
The Leuna site is one of five German locations of the WEPA Group, and the location’s workforce of 220 produce toilet paper as well as kitchen towels.
