The international packaging and paper group Mondi is strengthening its machinery at its Bad Rappenau site with state-of-the-art technology. The investment of around 6 million euros, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, includes the modernisation of the corrugator. All of the plant's main components will be modernised and additional control systems will be introduced.

Customers will benefit significantly from this machine upgrade in terms of the quality of the packaging produced: the latest inspection systems continuously check for possible defects and automatically adjust the settings if necessary to guarantee sheet quality. Quality defects are automatically detected and sorted out during the production process with the new system.

The investment underlines Mondi Bad Rappenau's commitment to high-quality and sustainable corrugated board packaging solutions, which are used in particular in the retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.

The realisation of the project will be completed in the first quarter of 2025. The investment will enable high performance and delivery capability, reduce set-up times and stock levels and ensure constant delivery capability for our customers.

"The new machine technology will help us to achieve our sustainability targets in the areas of energy consumption and raw material usage. At the same time, the working environment at the new plant will be more attractive thanks to a sophisticated sound insulation and lighting concept," says Burkhard Vogel, Managing Director of Mondi Bad Rappenau.
