The Frankfurt book fair saw book lovers from all over the world come together over the past few days, the one in Vienna is about to start. What a great opportunity to take a look at two very special publications, reflecting two culinary philosophies that are fundamentally different, yet similar in principle: The Asado grill cookbook ‘Asado – Ursprünglich Grillen über offenem Feuer’ and the Ayurveda book ‘Karma Food’. With one a celebration of meat and the other promoting the colourful world of veganism, the two books could not be more different at first glance. Asado BBQ recipes take meat enthusiasts on a journey to the art of grilling, South American style. Adi Bittermann, Franz Größing, Jürgen Kernegger and Leo Gradl - the four ‘asadores’ - are all fired up about the project. The rugged beauty of grilling over an open fire is reflected in the rough haptics of the natural-coloured PERGRAPHICA® Natural Rough paper. Contrasting colours of charcoal, fire and ingredients whet the appetite for a juicy Asado steak. The cover illustration itself was clearly engraved using a heat-based tool, as though the book itself was just fresh off the grill!

Cooking is a lifestyle and a philosophy at the same time. Adi Raihmann, the creator of ‘Karma Food’, understands this.
