Corrugated base paper: Model has started up the rebuilt paper machine in Eilenburg

Model had acquired the former Stora Enso Sachsen site in mid-2021 and announced at the same time that it intended to convert the paper mill from newsprint to AP corrugated base paper. Work started in August 2023 and commissioning was originally scheduled for April 2024, but has been repeatedly postponed recently.

As the company informed EUWID at the beginning of September, commissioning has now taken place. At full capacity, the 9.40 m wide plant will be able to produce 600,000 tons of corrugated base paper. The product portfolio includes corrugating medium and testliner in grammages between 70-120 gsm.
