Köstlin completes Miraclon Certification for FLEXCEL NX Plates
News General news
Köstlin Prepress Services, based in Ditzingen, Germany, has successfully completed the Miraclon Certification program for KODAK FLEXCEL NX Plates.
The program evaluates FLEXCEL NX System users’ ability to meet stringent international flexo platemaking standards set by Miraclon. It represents a feature set that drives industry-leading efficiency, repeatability, and consistent quality in flexo platemaking, and is also supported by extensive data measurement series and analyses.
Köstlin has been a user of FLEXCEL NX Technology since 2013 and further invested in a FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution in 2020. The family-owned business, which employs around 50 staff, operates a FLEXCEL NX Wide 4260 System capable of producing flexo plates in sizes of up to 1,067 x 1,542 mm. The business portfolio is dominated by premium prepress services for flexible packaging, with most orders coming from the highly demanding food and cosmetics sectors. The production of FLEXCEL NX and FLEXCEL NX Ultra Plates today accounts for 70% of the company's total platemaking.
“Independent certifications from suppliers and also the DFTA – German Flexographic Technical Association – of our manufacturing processes is an important part of keeping up our production standards,” said Marc Talmon Gros, Managing Director. “For us, the key benefit of this certification is that we can be sure the process and quality of plates we produce consistently meets the high international standards defined by Miraclon. Of course, it is also very useful if we can refer to the successful certification in personal discussions with customers or in our own marketing activities.”
