“SCREEN’s wide colour gamut has been one of the winning factors bringing us this recognition, this is something we can apply to print runs of all lengths” said Nathan Williams, Operations Manager at Limpet Labels UK.

Limpet won the Digital Labels & Packaging 2023 ‘Excellence with inkjet’ award for the eye-catching Autobrite Direct Limited Pumkin Spice Detailing Spray label. The jury commented: “A bold heavy design with clear reverse text and tactile and variable gloss levels, showcasing inkjet’s capability.”

Autobrite Direct, active in the automotive sector, sells car shampoos and waxes. Nathan Williams said: “This is a very competitive market, and our client requires top-quality, impactful labels. SCREEN’s Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI press enables us to produce just that – and it delivers reliably and consistently, regardless of a print run’s volume.”

The Autobrite label was also Limpet’s entry for the ‘Digitally printed labels and packaging’ award issued at the Digital Printer’s 2023 Awards. The judges commented on the colourful Limpet-made label: “High contrast, vivid and punchy entry using a combination of design and technology to enhance the final delivered design/product.”

Shortlisted for ‘Label Printer of the Year’ award

Limpet Labels was also nominated as finalists in the ‘Label Printer of the Year’ category at the Printweek 2024 Awards.

Nathan Williams said: “We feel we were rewarded for our strong focus on good colour management. We operate in challenging label markets, such as labels for chemical products, which requires resistant and robust inks. SCREEN’s presses have a wide colour gamut which allows us to provide an exact colour matching service, and accurately and continuously produce a client’s brand colour or vital Pantone swatch.

We operate two SCREEN Truepress LABEL SAI colour presses of the latest generation, which provide enhanced print quality and an excellent colour gamut. We are grateful for SCREEN’s technology, service and support. About 90% of our business is digital today and this is to a large extent thanks to SCREEN’s presses.”
