Kyocera presents six new ECOSYS multifunction systems
News General news
Kyocera Document Solutions, a leader in information and document management, is launching six new A4 multifunction systems. They offer a range of additional functions and security features to meet increasing environmental and security requirements.
The new Kyocera ECOSYS MA4500x, ECOSYS MA4500fx, ECOSYS MA4500ix, ECOSYS MA4500ifx, ECOSYS MA5500ifx and ECOSYS MA6000ifx systems have been developed with a focus on high reliability, cost-effectiveness, resource conservation and security. All six printing systems meet the latest Blue Angel and ENERGY STAR 3.0 requirements.
Digitize documents easily
With a 75- or 100-sheet original feeder, the systems quickly and easily handle extensive scan jobs and make documents available in numerous scan formats. As PDF, (Open) XPS or optionally in various Microsoft Office formats, the digitized documents can be seamlessly reused. With the optional Scan Extension Kit, searchable PDFs can be created directly on the multifunctional system. Other features that make scanning easy with the new systems include Skip Blank Page, Banner Scan, MultiCrop Scan and Electronic PDF Signature.
The new multifunction systems come standard with a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet cassette, as well as an integrated duplex unit for two-sided printing in A4 and A5 formats. For intensive users, up to 2,600 sheets of paper are available from up to six feeders for different forms, formats and grammages.
Climate-friendly technology
Thanks to Kyocera's unique ECOSYS technology, the toner kit is the only consumable. Components such as the image drum, which in conventional cartridge systems have to be replaced every time the toner is changed, are designed for an especially long service life of up to 300,000 or 500,000 print pages in the ECOSYS models, thus ensuring significantly less waste. With a higher proportion of recycled plastic than in previous models, lower power consumption and the EcoPrint function for reduced toner consumption, for example when printing drafts, the new
multifunctional systems conserve resources and ensure low noise emissions at the workplace with the "Quiet Operation" function. Kyocera also focuses on environmental friendliness in its packaging with recycled cardboard and does not use polystyrene (Styrofoam). As part of the Print Green climate protection initiative, Kyocera invests in Gold Standard climate protection projects in the amount of greenhouse gases generated during raw material generation, production, transport and recycling of the systems.
Thanks to the longevity of key components and the high toner capacity, for up to 40,000 pages depending on the model, consumables need to be changed less frequently, which reduces process costs, such as for ordering toner, and service costs. As a result, the new multifunction systems score with low operating costs. Useful functions such as "Skip blank page" and "Check and store" also help to avoid unnecessary printouts and reduce paper consumption.
Advanced security features
All six new systems are equipped with functions for enhanced IT and document security. "Confidential printing" with PIN code query and the option of restricting the user group via user login management protect the documents to be printed from unauthorized access. The "Unauthorized time" function deactivates print functions after office hours. In addition to a host of other features such as Secure Boot, Run-time Integrity Check or TLS 1, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is optionally available when a hard disk is installed. This makes information processes more secure and relieves IT teams.
"Users also benefit from a particularly high level of user-friendliness," explains Heiko Schumann, Product Manager at Kyocera Document Solutions. "Frequently used functions and settings can be saved as favorites and called up at the touch of a button. Frequently used documents can also be quickly retrieved from the user box. In addition, the HyPAS solution platform offers many opportunities to implement additional functionalities and enhanced connectivity with little effort."
