Konica Minolta’s AccurioLabel 400 high speed single-pass toner press has received the German Design Award 2024. The latest accolade follows its achievement of three coveted industry recognitions - an iF Design Award 2023, a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023 and the 2022 Good Design Award sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

The German Design Award was established in 2012 as an international design competition organized by the German Design Council founded by the German Federal Parliament in 1953. Only products that have been awarded design prizes in countries other than Germany and so have already been recognized publicly for outstanding design quality are eligible for the competition, subject to nomination by the German Design Council. Therefore, being nominated as a candidate for the award itself is an honour. Due to the rigorous screening process, the German Design Award is known as the “Award of Awards”.

The AccurioLabel 400 from Konica Minolta, the first high-end model in the AccurioLabel series of digital label printers, was unveiled in May last year. It achieves unprecedented operational efficiency, even in the high-volume area, through high-speed printing, extended continuous printing length, and process automation. As such it aims to capture a significant share of a fast-growing mid- and high-volume sector that has an estimated 3,000-plus label converters.

Significant features include the ability to expand applications with white toner and improved productivity with superfast print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute. There are also further running cost reductions thanks to even more durable parts life, as well as enhanced print quality. It is available in 4- and 5-colour configurations.
