TÜV Rheinland certifies "suitability as a toy" for print products created on Konica Minolta production printing systems
News General news
Three Konica Minolta production printing systems have received the coveted international "Suitability as a Toy" certification from TÜV Rheinland. The testing organization thus confirms that prints produced on the two AccurioPress C14000 and AccurioPress C7100 toner systems, as well as on the AccurioJet KM-1e digital UV inkjet system, meet all national and international standards for toy safety. The certification is essential for printers who produce children's books, games for young children or packaging for children's toys.
The two toner systems and the B2+ inkjet system were subjected to a series of tests by TÜV Rheinland in Cologne and Nuremberg over a period of several weeks to obtain accreditation. It confirms that print products created with these printing systems meet defined criteria and safety.
TÜV Rheinland stands for safety and quality certification in almost all areas of business life. It is a trusted system of test mark validation, reference and verification certification. The three Konica Minolta systems met all TÜV Rheinland criteria for toy testing according to the specific categories for toy safety EN 71-3 and EN 71-9.
Cord Hashemian, Product Marketing Manager Production Printing at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Germany, says, "We are very proud that our three flagship systems have received this international certification for child-resistant toys from TÜV Rheinland. In addition to the certificates for the suitability of printed products in contact with food that have been available for toner systems for some time, this accreditation opens up additional business options for our customers."
Moving into new business models
Launched two years ago, the AccurioPress C14000 prints faster than any other Konica Minolta toner-based system at 140 pages per minute. Together with the AccurioPress C12000, a second model in the series that reaches speeds of 120 pages per minute, Konica Minolta's award-winning flagship production printers are a first foray into the high-volume toner printing segment.
The successor to the highly successful AccurioPress C6100 series, the AccurioPress C7100, to be launched in summer 2021, has a color speed of 100 A4 pages per minute. With banner sizes that can be automatically printed on both sides up to 900 mm and the flexibility to handle embossed and textured media up to 400 g/m2, the systems are so easy to use that the most complex projects can be completed by a single operator.
The AccurioJet KM-1e, launched in June 2020 and inheriting the compelling features of the AccurioJet KM-1, enables printers and print service providers to transition to more profitable business models. The system amplifies the benefits of LED UV inkjet technology to improve quality and printability on various types of media such as plastics, transparent films, foiled paper, metallic media or synthetic substrates.
"These printing systems help our customers rethink their capabilities and expand into new markets. Our printing solutions offer advanced automation features, for less operator effort and higher productivity with noticeable effects and less waste as well as lower total cost of ownership," explains Cord Hashemian.
