Koehler Papier, Oberkirch, receives service for Dryer Fabric Cleaners and Tail Cutter from ProJet
News General news
Despite of COVID19 travel restrictions, ProJet continues to fully support customers throughout the world for service and start-ups. In August, service was performed on ProJet equipment at PM5. Koehler Papier’s PM5 produces specialty paper made on a 5 meter wide machine at 1,000m/min. PM5 has 3 Dryer Fabric Cleaners and 1 High Pressure Tail Cutter from ProJet that were installed between 2008 and 2012; for the preventative maintenance, PM5 relies on ProJet engineers to perform the specialized task.
ProJet has a team on 5 young and dynamic service engineers, that travel the world to service ProJet equipment, perform start-ups and measure-up paper machines for new ProJet equipment.
Niko Friedrich, Production Manager of PM5: ”ProJet’s engineers are highly knowledgeable and experienced. All ProJet equipment was serviced professionally which guarantees highest reliability and runability.”
The ProJet Service Team provided all equipment at Koehler with new complete new drive mechanisms, such as chains and motors, as being part of the regular maintenance of equipment that has been running for over 10 years. Furthermore, upgrades and modernizations were performed, so Koehler is now equipped with state-of-the-art Dryer Fabric cleaning equipment.
The Power Cleaner cleans the Dryer Fabrics continuously, 24 hours a day, as long as the machine is running and uses a single traversing head that cover the fabrics using multiple ruby nozzles at a pressure of maximum 500 bar (7,500psi). Air knives and a Venturi-vacuum-system make sure all water and debris is effectively discharged into a save-all and from there, outside the machine. A clean dryer fabric, with consistently high air permeability, delivers important productivity and performance advantages for dryer section applications. The desired end result, of a clean dryer fabric, is a substantial improvement in available dryer capacity. ProJet’s innovative cleaning system is being applied successfully to very low basis weight product as well has heavy weight paper board applications.
