Politics meets industry: Koehler Paper emphasizes the importance of a competitive electricity price
News General news
Koehler Paper has drawn the attention of politicians to the needs of industry and emphasized the importance of hydrogen supply and a competitive electricity price.
A visit to a Koehler Paper mill by Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble's successor provided an opportunity to do just that. Dr. Stefan Kaufmann (CDU) visited the Koehler Paper site in Kehl.
The talks focused on the local and supra-regional needs of the paper manufacturer. These include the topics of wind power, the future supply of hydrogen and an affordable electricity price for the industry.
"High electricity prices are a competitive disadvantage for our industry and put jobs at risk. We must ensure that our companies can compete internationally," said Dr. Stefan Karrer, Chief Technology Officer of the Koehler Group.
Joachim Uhl, Plant Manager of the Koehler Paper site in Kehl, praised the constructive exchange: "We are delighted to welcome Dr. Stefan Kaufmann personally to the site and to be able to present our needs and demands in a direct dialog."
