Koehler Paper: Christoph Wachter now responsible for the flexible packaging paper division

In January 2022, Christoph Wachter took over the management of the flexible packaging papers division. He succeeds Eckhard Kallies, who very successfully positioned, developed and strategically set up this new business unit in the long term as part of a three-year mandate.
With an investment of over 300 million euros in the new production line 8 at the production site in Kehl, Koehler Paper entered the growth market of flexible packaging papers in 2019. With Koehler NexPlus®, Koehler now covers the rapidly growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
Christoph Wachter takes over the division at Koehler Paper during a strong growth phase. He comes from Tyrol in Austria, is married and has two grown-up children. The 58-year-old studied business administration and brings with him 30 years of experience in speciality papers in the paper industry, where he was, among other things, a managing director with international responsibility.
Further growth for flexible packaging papers from Koehler Paper
Since Koehler Paper entered the market, numerous customers, such as Ritter-Sport or Südzucker, have already relied on the company's packaging papers. Kai Furler, CEO of the Koehler Group, emphasises: "We are on the verge of major growth in the flexible packaging paper sector and are delighted that Christoph Wachter will now be contributing his experience as division manager." After the successful entry with strategic customer projects in the European market, the focus is now additionally on the Asian as well as the American market.
