Kabel Premium Pulp & Paper GmbH, Hagen, has concluded talks with the employee representatives about the announced job cuts. In response to an enquiry from EUWID, the company has announced that the workforce will be reduced by 90 people.
In addition, production at the paper mill, which has a capacity of around 450,000 tonnes per year with two PMs, will be adjusted to market conditions.
According to further EUWID information, the plans at Kabel envisage a "workload-optimised work organisation". This should allow one or both paper machines to be operated, the company explained to EUWID.
The Kabel paper mill mainly produces LWC/MWC in gravure and offset quality. The company has also recently expanded its portfolio to include printing paper for letterpress printing. The two plants can also produce packaging paper.
