İŞ Holding considers new paper machine for Ober-Schmitten paper mill
News General news
Turkish İŞ Holding is planning to expand production capacity for speciality papers at its Ober-Schmitten mill in Hesse.
As a company spokesperson confirmed in response to an enquiry from EUWID, investment in a new paper machine is planned. A working group has already been set up to deal with the realisation of the project.
Further details - such as the investment sum, the planned capacities or a time horizon for a possible start-up of the paper machine - are not yet ready for discussion, according to the company.
The Turkish holding company took over the paper mill from the US-based Glatfelter Corporation in August of this year. SPO produces speciality papers such as glassine and electrotechnical papers in Ober-Schmitten. According to the latest information, the production capacity was around 7,000 to 8,000 tonnes per year.
