Ilim Group summarized the results of its export operations in the Chinese market in 2023. The volume of the contracts signed in the Company’s key market reached record-high 2.05 million tons of products, including 1.646 million tons of pulp and 405 thousand tons of board. This is a 19.3% increase versus 2022. The Company sold products worth over USD 1.2 billion.

Ilim Group strengthened its business in China’s regions by developing infrastructure within the One Belt, One Road transportation and logistics system. The Company started direct deliveries to the packaging factories of Shanying International Holdings, central region, which ranks 3rd in packaging production and 2nd in corrugated packaging production. A strategic partnership agreement was signed with Suifenhe Sanxia Economic and Trade Company, the industry’s largest operator in the northeast China. Strategic partnership agreements were also signed with the largest Chinese market operators, such as Xiamen C&D, Shanghai High Hope Pulp &Paper, Jiahui Trading, and Suifenhe Sandu Papermaking Company. Ilim plans to increase supplies to the PRC after the ramp-up of its KLB Mill in Ust-Ilimsk with an annual production capacity of 600 thousand tons of virgin board (kraftliner).

“Ilim Group has been in the Chinese market for more than 27 years and today, we cooperate with over 500 factories in 20 regions of the PRC and supply our products to almost all popular segments of the Chinese market. Manufacturers enhance their capacities, and the Company is getting ready to boost pulp and board supplies even further,” said Alexey Chernyaev, Senior Vice President, Sales, Supply Chain Management and Packaging.
