Compared to the high starting level of 2021, the 2022 market was thus down by 7.9%, but remained well above the pre-Corona level of 2019 with an increase of 14%. Total revenue was reported to have declined by 3.5% to €26 billion.
The decline shows that the Corona pandemic is over, and with it the huge CEP demand that had driven exceptionally strong shipment growth since 2020. According to BIEK, the long-term upward trend of the CEP market since 2012 continues in the medium term despite the current decline.
