The overall demand for press papers in France in August remained clearly below the previous year's level.

In the individual segments, however, the relationship between demand and available capacities is somewhat different. While there is significantly more machine capacity available for newsprint and also LWC than customers in Europe are ordering, the planned and already effective capacity changes for SC papers have brought some movement into the market.

Prices were often fixed for three months from July, free prices tend to give way.
