The photo and decor paper manufacturer Felix Schoeller GmbH & Co. KG, Osnabrück, is currently looking to cut up to 210 jobs at various locations. According to the IGBCE, around 150 employees are also to be made redundant at the Weißenborn paper mill.

The reason for the job cuts is a strategic realignment of the company. In order to withstand increasing competitive pressure and changing market conditions, the company intends to focus more strongly on sustainably profitable products in future, according to a statement.
According to the company, imaging papers with a capacity of 105,000 tons per year are produced at the paper mill in Weißenborn.
As part of the transformation, which is being carried out under the name “Reinvent”, the paper manufacturer had previously decided to close the paper mill in Penig at the end of 2025. Here, Schoeller mainly produces dark decor papers and regenerated papers with a capacity of 30,000 tons per year.
