Our Group has entered into an agreement with the Anglo-French multinational Arjowiggins to fully take over Guarro Casas, historic Spanish company with strong skills in the finishing of specialty papers. The company is based in Gelida (Barcelona), where it operates with a plant that employs 140 people.
This acquisition strengthens Fedrigoni’s proposal in the specialty papers business: Guarro Casas is highly specialized in the production of fine papers for creative and binding applications, where it is the market leader in high-added value finishing for luxury packaging, fine book covering and security applications.
Its high-profile skills in the production and finishing of specialty graphic papers, enriches some market segments in which Fedrigoni already excels at a global level, being able to develop further synergies: the inclusion of additional know-how and complementary technologies will allow us to expand our portfolio and to also have a future positive impact on Fedrigoni’s Self-Adhesives business unit, with particular reference to the premium label segment.
Jordi Sauras, General Manager of Guarro Casas, also expressed great satisfaction with the acquisition. “Fedrigoni is an international group and a solid, rapidly expanding industrial reality, in which I am sure Guarro Casas will be able to grow and consolidate significantly in the coming years. Our two companies are extremely well-matched and Fedrigoni’s experience in the luxury packaging sector, its knowledge of processes and manufacturing, added to the global dimension, will be crucial in helping us to develop new and highly innovative solutions”.
