EUWID market report on corrugated board: Not enough orders to utilise capacities

In the first few days of December, the market for corrugated board shows no change compared to the previous months. Demand remains rather subdued, even though it is now reportedly consistently in the single-digit rather than double-digit percentage range below the previous year.
However, even with the slight decline, the industry is not only slipping below the previous year's figures, but is also below the volumes that were "normal" before coronavirus. According to the market, the order situation is still not sufficient to fill the corrugators to their potential capacity.
In the last quarter and towards the end of the year, corrugated board manufacturers have increased the price pressure on paper mills following statements about concessions to individual players.
