EU extends anti-dumping and countervailing duties on coated fine paper from China
News General news
The European Union will continue to impose anti-dumping duties and countervailing duties on imports of coated fine paper from the People's Republic of China.
The corresponding regulations for the duties were published in the Official Journal of the EU on 22 August and have been in force since 23 August. The EU Commission has decided on countervailing duties on coated fine paper from China, which amount to 4 or 12% depending on the company. In addition, the EU has extended anti-dumping duties, which are currently 8%, 27.1% or 35.1%, depending on the producer. There is no change in the respective duty rates.
The European producers of coated fine paper Arctic Paper Grycksbo AB, Burgo, Fedrigoni SpA, Lecta Group and Sappi Europe had filed a request for a review on 31 March 2022, before the expiry of the duties last year.
The papers concerned are single or double-sided coated fine papers in reel and sheet formats in grammages from 70 to 400 gsm and with a whiteness of more than 84%. Kraft papers and boards as well as reels for rotary printing presses are excluded from the regulation, writes the EU Commission. Mulitplex paper and board will also remain unaffected by the duties. The countervailing and anti-dumping duties will be levied on the net, free-at-Union-frontier price, before duty.
