EU Commission approves takeover of Asia Pulp & Paper by Jackson Wijaya

The Commission has thus cleared the way for the family succession plan at APP, the pulp, paper and packaging division of the Indonesian industrial conglomerate Sinar Mas Group, Jakarta. According to the plans, Jackson Wijaya (Widjaja) will take direct and sole control of the four holding companies Scotsdale Holding Limited, Austin Premium Group Limited, Capital Holding Strategic Limited and Global Capital Universal Limited.

The four holding companies, which together directly and indirectly control all companies within the APP Group, are currently controlled by Jackson Wijaya's father Oei Tjie Goan, who is also known by his Indonesian name Teguh Ganda Wijaya.

Jackson Wijaya Limantara is also the sole owner of the Dutch companies Paper Excellence B.V., Karta Halten B.V. and Hervey Investments B.V., the three holding companies of the Canadian Paper Excellence group, which now trades under the name Domtar.
