Ence begins work on the project for the production of cellulose for hygienic and absorbent products in Navia

The marketing of this new range of products with greater added value will begin in the last quarter of 2025 and will allow increasing the competitiveness of the biofactory, through entry into New markets.

Thanks to the execution of this project, it will be possible to reduce European dependence on this range of products, imported mainly from the United States, reducing the carbon footprint through a more efficient process in the use of wood.

The investment, of 30 million euros, will make the current process for the production of this product more flexible. special paste for absorbent hygiene products, reaching the replacement of up to 125,000 current tons of standard pulp per fluff cellulose.

The line will have the best production technologies in the segment, contributing to production of a high quality product and meeting the highest standards through an eco-efficient process, like the one that already characterizes the Ence Asturian biofactory.

Specifically, the work will include the modification of one of the current pulp finishing lines, to allow for forming and shipping in the form of coils, sowie andere Anpassungen der Produktionslinie und der Produktion, die für die Anpassung an das neue Produkt erforderlich sind.

NACHHALTIGKEIT UND MEHRWERT AUS ASTURIEN
Fluff ist eine Art von Zellulose, die in einer Vielzahl von Hygiene- und Absorptionsprodukten wie Windeln, Damenhygieneprodukten und Inkontinenzschutzprodukten verwendet wird, um nur einige zu nennen. Er eignet sich auch für die Verwendung auf verschiedenen Vliesstoffen, wie Feuchttüchern, Servietten, Tischtüchern, Saugeinlagen für Lebensmittel und verschiedenen Produkten für den Arzt- und Apothekensektor.

Die Fluff Pasta von Ence Navia wird die erste in Europa sein, die aus Eukalyptusholz hergestellt wird. Die Verwendung dieses Holzes wird den saugfähigen Produkten aufgrund seiner besonderen Eigenschaften einen Mehrwert verleihen: größere Weichheit, geringeres Volumen und damit größere Diskretion und Einsparungen bei Verpackungsmaterial und Transport, größere Trockenheit des Produkts bei Kontakt mit der Haut des Benutzers und Verringerung des Risikos von Dermatitis.

Diese Investitionslinie wird also die Produktion in Asturien ermöglichen, und zwar auf der Grundlage von Holz lokaler Herkunft und aus verantwortungsvollem Anbau, einem Rohstoff, der derzeit hauptsächlich aus Nordamerika importiert wird. Der Flockenzellstoff von Ence Navia wird hauptsächlich für den europäischen Markt bestimmt sein. Damit wird nicht nur ein geringerer ökologischer Fußabdruck des Endprodukts erreicht, sondern auch ein Beitrag zur Nachhaltigkeit der gesamten Produktionskette von absorbierenden Produkten geleistet, da es sich um natürliche Fasern handelt, die kompostierbar und biologisch abbaubar sind.
