DS Smith to double production of Point of Sale stands in Kielce (Poland)
News General news
For more than 10 years the DS Smith Kielce plant has been serving leading brands in the FMCG, toys and industrial sectors. With the extension of the factory which included a completely new hall and office rooms, the entire factory will cover an area of 5,700 square metres.
"That's more than twice as much space as we'd had before. We have gained a place that will allow us to carry out many projects at the same time - says Aneta Szkoła - Display Plant Manager.
Thanks to the investment, the company will be able to serve all customers in the high seasons, as well as continue to develop its offer, e.g. innovative sustainable solutions. DS Smith plans to double production in this factory over the next 4 years. And the investment will enable meeting the growing customer needs of and further development of the offer.
Precision, innovation and sustainability
The new factory will include cardboard processing machines with high-quality of offset printing. The specificity of this type of printing is a non-standard production. They require large areas for printing, involving not only manual work, but also the use of punching machines, laminators for the production of five-layer cardboard and specialized folder-glues.
“The factory will be equipped with additional machines in accordance with the investment plan set for the coming years. This means constant development and stable jobs for people who already work at DS Smith and for those who will join us as the business grows”. - explains Grzegorz Bielnik, Managing Director Converting Plants.
The modern hall was built with a sustainable mindset. It is equipped with LED lighting that allows us to save energy. The automatic line for removing waste from cutting machines ensures that every smallest waste of cardboard is recycled.
Growing display market
The Covid-19 pandemic is making customer behaviours change in store. We spend less time and we buy more products, making purchasing decisions faster and more often for products that are well displayed. Point of sale promotion is crucial. It can be a wardrobe stand of various shapes and dimensions, island baskets, as well as counter displays or multi-pallet displays.
“We are constantly developing our offer, carefully observing market trends, responding to customer needs and caring for the environment. Recently, we have implemented solutions to eliminate plastic from POS stands, such as paper click-clips, price strips or cardboard hooks. As a result, the displays are 100% single-material, recyclable and sustainable, ”explains Aneta Szkoła.
