Over the next two years, we will be investing almost 10 million euros in our family business in order to expand it further. "The innovations associated with the upcoming investments are enormous. By purchasing a new die-cutting machine and a new printing machine, we want to achieve a capacity increase of around 25 per cent." However, the new machines are not only intended to increase the volume of orders, but also to create new jobs. A total of 65 new jobs are planned in the company by 2028 as a result of the expansion," says Mike Günther, managing director of colordruck Baiersbronn.
In order to integrate the additional production facilities in the existing hall, the logistics of the semi-finished goods were completely redesigned. A fully automated shelf warehouse is currently being built in the basement. Here the printed sheets are stored and fed to the next process step on demand. "The overall concept has been assessed by the economic committee of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament as eligible for funding under the "Invest BW for the promotion of innovation and technology projects" programme," says Martin Bruttel, managing director.
In addition to the investments in the production area, the introduction of a new ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning system) is planned for the coming year. The selection for the ERP system is to be completed this year. We want to switch completely to the new system as early as 2023.
