infoKompakt from bvdm on turbulence in the paper markets
News General news
Printing and media companies are increasingly threatened by supply bottlenecks for graphic papers and rising printing paper prices across all grades.
The industry survey conducted by the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm) in April 2021 and most recently the economic telegram in July already indicated that the situation would worsen - in numerous printing and media companies, the turbulence on the paper markets was classified as the main cause of production hindrances. In the meantime, uncertainty about delivery quantities and deadlines are causing major problems in production processes. Long delivery times mean that print jobs can increasingly not be accepted. Business relationships with customers are at stake.
