Association of German Paper Mills is now called DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE
News General news
The Association of German Paper Factories (VDP - Verband Deutscher Papierfabriken e. V.) is now known as DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE e. V. and is changing its name and logo.
Instead of the stylised leaf used so far, a circle now symbolises both the winding of the paper web on the paper machine and the idea of the circular economy. The new claim "versatile, sustainable, innovative" describes the self-image of the paper industry.
This change of name is the first outwardly visible step towards the foundation of a new joint association with the Federation of Employers' Associations of the German Paper Industry (Vereinigung der Arbeitgeberverbände der Deutschen Papierindustrie e. V.). (VAP). From 1 January 2022, the association DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE, together with its regional associations, will represent the interests of Europe's largest pulp and paper industry with around 47,000 employees in terms of both social policy and economic policy. The headquarters of the new federation will be in Berlin with branch offices in Bonn and at the paper centre in Gernsbach.
Following decisions in principle already taken, both federal associations must finally decide on the merger at general meetings in November 2021. Alexander von Reibnitz will be the Chief Executive Officer of the new association, Andre Müller the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
