APPM: Pulp Mill Holding develops cyclical bioeconomics
News General news
The Austrian Group of Companies Pulp Mill Holding GmbH has decided to launch new products under the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill brand, which comply with the current eco-friendly market trends. Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill plans to build the first machine for the production of waste paperboard (KDM-4) within its industrial site.
The machine will run on secondary fiber, which is an innovation in the corporate environmental agenda. Thus, Pulp Mill Holding will create a cyclical bioeconomy for all its Russian production facilities.
APPM emphasized that the decision on creating a new line of work in the Arkhangelsk region, i.e. the production of products based on recycled raw materials, was made based on the basic environmentally oriented principles of the Company's management.
"The effect of using recyclables is a long-term one. We are aware that an insufficiently rational attitude to natural resources will be equivalent to leaving the market. In general, bio-refining is a global trend today, which we intend to comply with," commented Vladimir Krupchak, Investment Director of Pulp Mill Holding, on this shareholder's decision.
The capacity of KDM-4 will be 400 thousand tons of products per year.
The project is focused on the implementation of the testliner and fluting both for its own corrugated production, Arkhbum JSC, and for all existing consumers of these products.
The new products of APPM will be supplied mainly to the domestic market.
As a result of the launch of the fourth machine, the capacity of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill for the production of containerboard will exceed one million tons of products per year.
