Where digitisation is more than just a buzzword: Actemium once again awards the "Applied Digitisation" sponsorship prize

This year, Actemium once again awarded students at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HTWK) the Actemium "Applied Digitalisation" sponsorship prize for their outstanding final theses.
To make digitisation transferable and not to realise it in theory alone: This was one of the most important criteria against which the applicants had to be measured. After a successful online pitch day at the end of September, the jury had a comprehensive basis for discussion from which to choose between the ten best works. "A choice that is not always easy, since the work is of course crucial, but also the presentation and
presentation and communication," says Gerald Taraba, CEO of Actemium Germany.
The winners of this year's "Applied Digitisation" funding award are Nikola Milosevic (1st place) with his work "Segmentation of Ultra-High Field Magnetic Resonance Brain Images for Multi-Parameter Mapping Using Deep Learning", supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. Gerold Bausch. Simon Kerner (2nd place) considered the following topic in his Master's thesis: "Numerical investigations of a heat pump dryer with a focus on reducing energy consumption". and was supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Riemer. And finally Vanessa Simon (3rd place), who was awarded the prize with the topic "The influence of manual controls on language learning success when using smartphone applications" and was supervised by Prof. Dipl.-Kfm. Dipl.-Oec. Friedrich Figge.
Gerald Taraba sums up this year's award as follows: "The uniqueness of this award lies in the integration of the topic of digitalisation into all subject areas of our life and thus faculties. The broad diversity of topics in the submissions reflects this again this year. We thank all applicants for their individual contributions.
